Camino of Finisterre and Muxía.

According to tradition, many pilgrims believed and still believe that the Camino de Santiago is not complete without reaching, after walking about 4 stages and a total of almost 90 km, the so-called "end of the world", Finisterre.

Get to know the Costa da Morte with this 5-night program in which you will discover, in addition to the famous Cape Finisterre, towns with a great Jacobean tradition and important historical and artistic heritage, as well as small and picturesque towns and villages scattered along the Camino, which will surely surprise you.

From 550€ per person. Private and flexible. Check prices and availability.

Day 1: Santiago de Compostela - Negreira. 20.6 km.

Starting from the Obradoiro square, we will begin our way to Finisterre with a relatively easy and comfortable departure from the capital. During this stage we will cross rural landscapes, with forests of oak and pine trees, and we will pass through small villages such as Pontemaceira, with its ancient Roman bridge, where it is worth stopping to admire the scenery. With the exception of the ascent to the Alto do Mar de Ovellas of about 210 m, we will not encounter any steep slopes.

The end of the stage will be in the medieval town of Negreira, where we recommend to visit the Pazo de Cotón and the chapel of San Mauro, as well as taking a walk and strolling through its streets.

Day 2: Negreira - Olveiroa. 33.6 km.

Today will be the longest stage, with more than 30 km between the towns of Negreira and Olveiroa, and with quite a few slopes although not too pronounced.

We will start crossing dense forests along the mountainside and the Barcala River, which will gradually clear as we reach our destination. It is worth mentioning the descent of Monte Aro, where we will be able to enjoy impressive views of the Xallas valley and the Fervenza reservoir from the heights, before entering the Serra de Castelo.

Day 3 : Olveiroa - Corcubión. 21,4 km

After two days of inland trekking, today we will finally enter a coastal landscape, with the Atlantic Ocean as our background. The impressive Xallas River will preside over the beginning of this stage, and as we advance towards the Corcubión estuary we will find several surprises along the way, such as the sanctuary of Nosa Señora das Neves and the top of O Cruceiro da Armada, from where we can observe in the distance our final destination, the lighthouse of Finisterre.

Except for the steep descent to Cee, the rest of the way will be without major slopes. Once arrived at this town, the largest municipality of the Costa da Morte, we will only have a couple of km left before arriving at Corcubión. There we can enjoy the old town of this small village, declared a historic-artistic site for its charming Gothic-maritime architecture, where we recommend seeing the church of San Marcos from the fifteenth century.

Day 4: Corcubión - Finisterre. 14 km.

The last stage will be the lightest of all, which will allow us to enjoy a pleasant walk without too much difficulty until we reach our desired destination, Cape Finisterre and its lighthouse. We will walk with the sea by our side, crossing sections of pine forests and beaches until we reach the town of Finisterre, where we can pick up the so-called "Fisterrana", to accredit our pilgrimage to the end of the world. We can make a stop in this fishing village and walk through its streets and stores before heading to kilometer 0, the symbolic lighthouse of Finisterre.

We recommend enjoying the breathtaking sunsets over the Atlantic that this point offers us, putting an end to this short but exciting journey, which will certainly leave us wanting to repeat.
